I had an up-side-down catfish for about 2 years now. It's a perfectly norma; fish who eats properly and behaves normally. But I've noticed a "hole" inside his body quite a while ago but I just didn't mention it. The "hole" was there when I bought it, and it's not a wound. The skin of the fish is perfectly normal but on that part, you can just see through its body. I also noticed recently that the spine should be also in the place of the hole, but the spine stopped when it got there. I don't think it's really a big trouble for it, but it's just wierd...
Any ideas? Are all up-side-down catfishes like that?
